Grassroots Grants scheme opens in North Yorkshire

Over £3/4 million has been awarded to the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) who, in partnership with York and North Yorkshire Community Foundation (YNYCF), aim to distribute grants from £250 up to £5,000 over 3 years.

Small voluntary and cummunity groups that make a big diference to their local communities can apply for Grassroots Grants. Groups with annual incomes of less than £20,000 can apply for grants of £250 to £5000 between now and 2011. Eligible applicants can use their grants for a variety of diferent uses. This can include helping local clubs get hold of new kit or equipment, coaching new volunteers or giving the village hall a fresh lick of paint.
