Our Trustees
Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust is an independent registered charity, governed by a board of trustees. The current Chairman is His Honour Peter Charlesworth.
Our trustees are individuals with a wide range of interests, knowledge, backgrounds and opinions, united by a love of the Dales. Although many of them are active members of other organisations and interest groups, they are proud of the fact that Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust remains a non-political, non-campaigning organisation. Instead they aim to achieve practical projects to support the well-being of the area.
The Trustees are ultimately responsible for the Trust's activities. They meet eight times each year to set the broad strategy, agree an annual budget and monitor progress. They consider applications for grant support, and direct the projects which we run ourselves.

Our Staff
Much of the Trust's work is undertaken by a team of staff reporting to a management team of David Sharrod (Director) , Sue Musgrave (Finance and Administration Manager), David Baker (Fundraising Manager), Isobel Hall (Project Manager) and Dave Tayler (Education Manager).
A small, but crucial, team provide the administrative and financial cornerstone to the organisation. Fundraisers work with donors to bring in the money, and project staff make things happen on the ground. Most of these are funded by the other organisations whose projects we are running.
We are particularly proud of the ethos, enthusiasm, and commitment which trustees and staff bring to the organisation. We enjoy making things happen. We are committed to staff development and training. This is reflected by our being awarded the Investors in People standard with a glowing report.
One of the consequences of this is that many of our staff stay with us - in the case of David Sharrod and Sue since we began. This allows us to build the personal relationships with donors, local communities and partner organisations which are crucial to our work.
